A comics and illustration enthusiast since childhood, Jean-Michel Tixier is entirely self-taught. He began his career illustrating the record sleeves of his friends’ music label Record Makers before his work caught the eye of great name brands and major publications.
Jean-Michel Tixier draws the inspiration for his irreverent universe from his favourite major French, Belgian and Dutch illustrators, (Joost Swarte, Serge Clerc, Hergé, Chaland...). With its clear lines, solid colors and wide cast of characters, his work without doubt belongs to the clear line movement.
